Warren's First Breath

Challenge: Traumatic Birth, Cranial Abnormalities, Infant Distress
Welcome to the world, Warren Anthony!
Every birth tells its own story. For Warren, that story was one of both challenge and triumph. His big sister’s delivery had been long but relatively smooth. His, however, was anything but easy.
After only a few hours of active labor, Warren was ready to arrive. As his head began to show, his mom, Dr. Jocelyn, could tell something wasn’t right and pushing just wasn’t as easy as it was with his big sister. With each push, instead of progressing forward, his head slipped back again and again. The midwife quickly realized that Warren was stuck, and his little body was starting to show signs of distress. The midwife’s assistant was instructed to get oxygen ready, and his dad, Dr. Kent, stepped in to help the midwife with the delivery.
Finally, Warren entered the world - at 10 lbs, 12 oz (over 2 pounds larger than his big sister) -but not breathing. His skin was blue, and time seemed to stand still.
At just 10 seconds old, Warren received his very first adjustment. Dr. Kent gently checked his spine and found stress at his upper neck, the C1 (Atlas). With a precise adjustment, the interference was cleared—and in that moment, Warren took his very first breath.
This moment captures what chiropractic care is truly about: restoring connection between the brain and the body. Warren didn’t just need oxygen; he needed his nervous system to communicate properly. Once that connection was restored, his body could finally do what it was designed to do—breathe, heal, and thrive.
It may come as a surprise to many parents, but research shows that 99 out of 100 newborns have at least one subluxation present at birth (1). With Warren’s size and the stress of being stuck in the birth canal, it made perfect sense that his nervous system needed help right away.
From that day forward, Warren has continued under regular chiropractic care. Gentle adjustments have helped him release cranial strain patterns from his tongue tie, supported his development, and given his body the best chance to heal and grow strong. His parents have watched him thrive through every milestone—calmer, healthier, and better able to adapt to life.
In his family’s words: chiropractic didn’t just give Warren his first breath. It has continued to give him life every single day since.
